  1. Kevin Cronin is doing a10 Day 2500Km Cycle along the Atlantic Way in aid of Windmill. Kevin will undertake The TransAtlanticWay a 2,500 km one stage, self-supported road bike race. It begins in Dublin on the 8th June outside of Trinity College, from there Kevin must cycle his own route, avoiding motorways/dual carriages, to the first check point in Derry, from there onto the Wild Atlantic Way, finishing at the second check point in Kinsale. On completion, the racers who stem from many parts of the world, will have cycled a distance equivalent to that between Ireland and Rome, and a combined elevation of three times the height of Mount Everest. (www.transatlanticway.com) Kevin, who is covering all costs of the self-supported race himself, is careful to ensure that all funds raised through his efforts and through the support of those who sponsor him, will go directly to Windmill and towards benefiting those who access the Service. You can sponsor Kevin and support Windmill by making a donation here. All racers carry a GPS tracker, in order to validate times and route, and through which the progress of the racers can be followed by friends and family. Windmill will maintain an update of Kevin’s progress on Windmills face book page. Kevin teaches in Bunclody Vocational School, he is married to Mary and they have two children, Aisling and Barry. He has always done adventure sports, moving from mountaineering to mountain biking and onto road biking. The Wexford Bike Men, The Tom Creane Adventurers, and the Bree Mountain Bikers are groups with whom Kevin cycles. In 2014 Kevin completed the Trans Savoie, a 6 day mountain bike race in the Alpine region, and a 5 day race across Wales in 2015. Kevin has now decided to take on the TransAtlanticWay, a 2500Km, 10 day road bike race.
