This year, I'm participating in the UCDVO volunteer programme which incudes a 4-week voluntary placement with Nurture Africa in Nansana, Wakiso District, Kampala. Nurture Africa is an Irish-founded internationally registered Non-Governmental Organisation that works in Uganda with a targeted focus on Healthcare, Education, Child Protection & Gender Equality and Economic Empowerment. As a physiotherapy student, I'll work with Nurture Africa health centre to deliver rehabilitation camps for children with disabilities and their families. This camp includes physiotherapy, public health, and nutrition assessments and interventions. The fundraising target is €1850 and will be used to support UCDVO’s overseas partners to run vital health, education and livelihoods programmes and projects.
