My Story

Hi everyone. My name is Siobhan Brady and I am a 1st year ‘Children’s and General Nursing’ student in University College Dublin. This year I am raising funds to travel to Nansana, Uganda with a group of 21 volunteers for UCD Volunteers Overseas. This is a month-long project working in partnership with a local organization called Nurture Africa. During this project we will be volunteering  in a rehabilitation camp for children with disabilities and their families. We will be providing play and music therapy and physiotherapy sessions to the children, screening children for malnutrition, running educational workshops for parents and children in the community on a variety of subjects such as disability awareness, nutrition, first aid, sexual education, etc., and helping to support small local businesses and help them grow by helping to develop strategies and business skills as well as providing micro-loans.Thank you so much for reading and I hope you will support our project. Any donations to support this cause would be hugely appreciated. For more information please visit www.nurtureafrica.ie or www.ucdvo.org
