Hi, I'm Shauna Corry and I'm in 2nd year Science in UCD. This summer I will be travelling to the village of Ruaha in Tanzania as part of UCD Volunteers Overseas. We will spend 4 weeks in Ruaha, and during those weeks our main focus will be to provide English language classes and run computer education programmes for students and teachers. Computer and technology skills are essential in this day and age, and our aim is to help Ruaha sustain a high level of computer literacy by teaching these skills to the adults, who will in turn be capable of passing on their knowledge to the wider community. Your support can help equip the people of Ruaha with the necessary tools to thrive in a technology-driven world. I cannot wait to begin this project, however, I will not be able to do it without help. Each volunteer is required to raise €2600, which covers costs including flights and accommodation, but also goes towards the development of the project, including the purchase of educational resources and equipment.  Any donation (big or small!) would be greatly appreciated!  If you're interested in learning more about UCDVO, visit www.ucdvo.org.
