Hi all, I have been given the opportunity to take part in UCD Volunteering & Global Citizenship program. This program involves year long activities including workshops about ethical volunteering, and a 4 week virtual placement in July. I have been paired with a Centre for Education and Development, in Sangam Vihar, New Delhi. This centre offers education to many of the poorest children in the area - which includes literacy, history, geography and much more. Children who attend also get access to nutritious meals during the day. The centre also offers women focused courses (sewing) to allow them to make an income and support their families. Computer classes are also offered. All donations will go directly to the centre, which funds the day to day running of it (meals etc) as well as it helps to fund bigger projects (they just built an outdoor play area for the children).All donations are greatly appreciated by myself, UCDVO and the centre. Thank you!
