Tanzania is one of the largest countries in East Africa and although there has been strong growth in Tanzania since 2000 it remains one of the poorest countries in the world with 68% of the population living below the international poverty line of $ 1.25. UCD VO has set up a partnership with Tanzanian NGO TanzED and since 2009 has been sending volunteers to Morogoro to work on computer education programmes, classroom refurbishments, summer camps for children and the distribution of books and educational resources. As a volunteer I will be involved in a year-long programme that will involve  development education , language classes and project planning. The installation of computer rooms and the computer education programmes for teachers provides increased computer access to large numbers of students in Morogoro Tanzania.
