My Story

Last year I was lucky enough to be a part of an amazing teamthat worked towards creating active, lasting change in a developing communityin Assam, Northeast India. Our project was a success, and I hope to be a partof working toward active change once more.I need your help to raise enough donations that will be usedfor necessary equipment on project, as well as provide the transport and foodfor my time there. The experience of working with local people striving towardschange in their own community is invaluable, and a lesson I hope to bring backhome with me.Our aim during our four weeks is to work with localcommunity members and Indian Social Science Masters, students to create changethat will last long after we have gone. We will hold workshops for both adultsand children on issues identified by the locals themselves, perform a streetplay to attract attention to a relevant social issue (last year it was ondomestic abuse, school drop outs and alcoholism) as well as renovating local Angenwadis, which are government run  heath centresthat provide food, education and shelter for mothers and their young children.  Thank you so much for your support.
