My Story
Hey everyone, my name is Rachel Shortt and I am a third year General Nursing student in UCD. This summer, I’ve been given the amazing opportunity to travel over to Nansana, Uganda with 20 other volunteers with UCD volunteer overseas. Throughout this project, we will be working in partnership with Nuture Africa, a primary healthcare centre based in Nansasa. During this project, we organise a 4 week rehabilitation camp for children with disabilities and cerebral palsy, do play therapy with children with disabilities, malnutrition screenings, provide educational workshops for parents and children on a range of topics such as nutrition, first aid and sanitation and provide parents with effective business skills to make a business plan and grow their businesses to support their families. I would really appreciate it if you were able to donate to this cause, every donation big or small will be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much everyone.
