Hi! My name is Pearce Bourassa. I'm a first year Politics and History student at UCD from New Hampshire, USA. This Summer I am lucky enough to be travelling to Ruaha, Tanzania for a month of volunteering with UCD Volunteers Overseas. There, myself and 21 other UCD students will be teaching English and computer skills to both children and adults, and helping to run a summer camp.  In order for our time in Ruaha to run smoothly, each volunteer must raise €2600. While a portion of what we raise goes to transportation and the cost of our stay, more will go directly to funding the work we do while we’re there.   I was inspired to apply to UCDVO after volunteering abroad in Belize twice with my local Rotary-Interact Club. It was an incredible experience and opened my eyes to the broader world around me.
