My Story

I am running the Wicklow half marathon this Sunday 26th March to raise funds for Mustard Seed Communities (MSC).  My goal is to raise 500 euro to support Mustard Seeds feeding programmes in Zimbabwe, where they are now feeding 1,250 children every day who are on the brink of starvation. To say I am nervous at the thoughts of running the half marathon is an understatement!  What will keep me going is know that for every kilometer I run,  another hungry child in Zimbabwe will be kept from the brink of starvation.Mustard Seed Communities is an international non-profit dedicated to caring for the most vunerable populations throughout the developing worlds.  MSC provides loving and lifetime residential care to children and adults with disabilities, children affected by HIV/AIDS and young mothers in crisis accross Jamica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe and Malawi.    MSC also provides education, nutrition and skills training programmes within marginalised communities, empowering people to break out of the cycle of poverty. One of MSC's feeding programmes in Zimbabwe is called the Ngozi Mine, which is a trash dump where more than 2,000 people live in subhuman conditions among the filth and the flies.  MSC provides a simple meal programme where they prepare a hot meal on the dump for the children who live in the garbage.

Charity supported

MSC is a charity dedicated to caring for disabled and abandoned children in Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe & Malawi.
