My Story

On the 5th of June, I will be participating in a charity match at Croke Park. Proceeds from the event will support the African projects of Irish-based international development organisation Self Help Africa, including projects that Alan Kerins has been supporting in Zambia for more than a decade.Self Help Africa has been working in sub-Saharan Africa for more than 50 years, and in that time has supported millions of households to produce more and earn more from their land. Self Help Africa’s work in Zambia has included supporting the Cheshire Homes to undertake social service projects, including providing clean and safe drinking water for more than 1,500 households in Eastern Zambia to establish water harvesting on their small farms. Access to water can enable these families to develop irrigated fruit and vegetable production on their land. Self Help Africa has also focused on training women farmers in several districts, to give them the skills needed to produce and market new crops, and increase their incomes.

Charity supported

Self Help Africa is dedicated to ending hunger and poverty in rural Africa.
