Hi there, my name is Katie O'Brien and this year I am part of the UCD Volunteer overseas team. This June I will be travelling to Somoto in Nicaragua alongside a group of students from UCD. We will be working on both education and infrastructural development over a four week period. In the past, students who volunteered in Nicaragua have been involved in building a healthcare centre and dormitories, there has been library development and they helped provide a supply of water. I am really looking forward to help adding to this list. We are all required to raise 2600 euro each, I plan to cover a lot of the costs myself and I also plan on holding different charity events throughout the year but any donations would really be hugely appreciated!
