Hi, I am a first year Commerce student in University College Dublin. I will be volunteering this summer in Somoto in Nicaragua as part of a team of 23 from UCD volunteer overseas. We will be taking part in both construction and educational projects during our month in Nicaragua. In recentyears UCDVO students have built dormitories, a basketball court, a multifunction classroom and have overseen the management of a library in a local rural school. In order for this to be possible we must each raise €2600, this will go to funding the work we will do while in Somoto and will also go towards travel expenses for the 23 volunteers to Central America.
