My Story
Hello everyone!! As some of you may know, in July 2019 I embarked on a 4 week stay in Kisiizi, Uganda to complete my elective Physiotherapy placement. I am delighted to say that I will be returning return in July 2020 however in the position of a student leader to a group of physiotherapy, nursing , medical and nutrition students.During this month, as a multi disciplinary team we will be providing additional services to the hospital and the surrounding areas by means of raising awareness of disabilities, creating physiotherapy programmes and providing care and invaluable equipment to its' patients. We will also be running a camp for children with Cerebal Palsy through which we aim to provide sustainable treatments for the children while also providing the families with education about their child's condition. Each volunteer is asked to raised a minimum of €1200 which will go directly to the project to provide resources such as physiotherapy equipment (wheelchairs, prostheses, walking aids, specailised seating etc) , educational resources, as well as resources for the camp with the aim of these resources being maintained for the forecoming years.I am truly grateful to everyone that supported me on my journey last year and would be equally grateful if I could get your support again this year, any donation at all is really appreciated. After seeing where the money goes, I can assure you that every penny goes a very long way!!! Jenny
