Hi! My name is Isobel Moloney and I am a first year student studying Politics and Social Justice in UCD. This year I have been lucky enough to have been given the opportunity to volunteer with UCD Volunteers Overseas this Summer. My group and I will be travelling to Morogoro in Tanzania to do a project which is focused around education development. This year-long project involves four weeks of volunteering in Morogoro which I need to fundraise and train for for the whole year. In Morogoro I will be helping teachers in schools in Morogoro develop their I.T. skills and will be facilitating English classes for the local children.  The project is run in association with TanzED who believe that poverty is unacceptable in the 21st Century, that education is key to ending poverty, and that technology radically improves the quality of education. With this sentiment in mind assistance to improve library resources and refurbish schools in Morogoro will be a huge focus. We hope by providing these  resources we can give the best possible educational experience for all the Tanzanian locals. For this project I have to raise a total of €2650. €1000 will go towards my flights, accommodation, and food. The remaining €1650 and any extra that I can raise will go towards the project itself. This money will fun things including the refurbishment of the computers, the training itself, and the improvement of their library resources. I am so excited and grateful to have this opportunity and would seriously appreciate any support towards this life changing cause for so many people!
