Hi everyone! This summer I am taking part in the UCD Volunteer Overseas (UCDVO) Volunteering & Global Citizenship Programme.      In July, I will be participating in a 4-week virtual voluntary placement with the Nurture Africa team based in the Nurture Africa Health Centre, Nansana, Uganda.     This summer our group aims to provide a 4 week summer camp for 30 children with disabilities and their families by creating digital resources, hosting interactive workshops and carrying out virtual physiotherapy and nutritional assessments under clinical supervision.      My goal as a volunteer is to support physiotherapist Robert and his team based in Uganda by providing my skills and knowledge in the area of nutrition, while also making use of this opportunity to learn and expand upon my cultural awareness and diversity in practice as a dietitian.      As part of the programme, I must fundraise €750 by May 2021, with all funds going directly to the charities involved.
