Hi friends! As some of you may know, this year I have been lucky enough to be chosen as part of athe brilliant UCDVO team. In July 2018, I will be travelling to Nansana HealthCentre in Uganda with a team of student physiotherapists, nurses, doctors andnutritionists.We are travelling as part of UCDVO to work alongside an Irish charity 'Nurture Africa'. This organisation aims to nurture the development of vulnerable children and adults  through healthcare, education and sustainable livelihood projects.As a student physiotherapist, I will be working to provide additional physiotherapy services to the Nurture Africa Health Centre in Nansana. Here I will spend four weeks working with children with disabilities and their families. We will provide therapy to children with conditions such as Cerebral Palsy and will be working closely with families to provide the support and education to continue this much-needed therapy at home. Each volunteer has been asked to raise  a minimum of €1,200, all of which will go directly to the project. These funds will support the team to carry out the therapies and education for one month and also covers the cost of project resources such as a rehabilitation camp for children with Cerebral Palsy, physiotherapy equipment,prostheses, educational resources and aids such as wheelchairs, walking framesand specialised seating. I would greatly appreciate any donations as every contribution will be a huge help in reaching my goal to make this project as worthwhile as possible for the children and families I will be working with.Thank you, Hannah :)
