Hi, my name is Eoin and this summer I have been given the opportunity to travel to Assam in North-East India for a month as part of UCD Volunteers Overseas to work on a development project in this region. I will be volunteering alongside 10 other students and 5 physiotherapy volunteers, as well as 12 Social Work Masters students from the Assam Don Bosco University.

We will be teaching primary and secondary level English classes to children, as well as holding communicative english lessons for the women in the area to help to improve their levels of practical english. We will hold workshops within the community on topics such as hygiene, alcoholism and domestic violence. We will also be renovating and refurbishing pre-school facilities.

In order to do this, I will need to raise €2600, which I will be raising through this page and a variety of fundraising events throughout the year. Any donation would be greatly appreciated and the support really does make a difference.
