In June 2019, I will be returning as a student leader to Morogoro, Tanzania with UCDVO. My experience on the project last year was completely life-changing, without trying to sound too stereotypical! The project involves teaching ICT skills to teachers in local schools, which they will then pass onto their pupils. We work in two schools each year, while running a refresher course in another school for teachers who have taken part in the project in previous years. The money we fundraise is used for the renovation of a classroom in each school for the purpose of teaching ICT, as well as the refurbishment of old computers which are shipped over to complete the classroom.We take our education for granted, without realising how valuable it is to others. We have been handed a gift, where others have had to fight for it, despite both being equally as entitled to it.I hope to return to Tanzania to continue educating, as well as being educated further myself.
