Hi everyone! This year I have been given the incredible opportunity to travel with UCD Volunteer Oversea's to Meghalaya, North East India for a 4 week physiotherapy placement in June/July 2019.  Along with 4 others, including a chartered physiotherapist, we will be based in the Ferrando Speech and Hearing Centre in Shillong  which is a school for children with hearing, speech and physical disabilities. Working with local staff, we will be involved in providing much needed physiotherapy treatment to the schoolchildren and the local community through an outreach programme.  Our work will also include a residential camp on disability awareness and a two-week intensive physiotherapy camp for the local children and their families. In order to participate in this project,  each volunteer is asked to raise €2,650, approximately €1,200 of which will go directly towards supporting the implementation of the project. This will include providing physiotherapy resources for the centre, including seating and walking aids, equipment for the children and facilitating families to attend the 2-week intensive camp by providing food and accomodation.  Any donation, no matter how small, will be greatly apprecitated and will go towards supporting a very worthwhile cause.  Thank you for your generous support in advance. Ella x
