Hi my name is Eithne and in June 2018 I will be travelling to Somoto, Nicaragua for four weeks on behalf of UCD Volunteer Overseas.   UCDVO is a charitable organisation which affords members of the UCD community the opportunity to travel on development projects to its partner communites in India, Haiti, Tanzania, Uganda and Nicaragua. I am delighted to be part of the Nicaraguan project for 2018 which is centred around construction and education.  Achievements of previous volunteers on this project include constructing schools, health centres, dormitories, a library and a basketball court as well as conducting arts & crafts, sports and education workshops with the local children. I plan to cover the cost of personal expenses  myself (flights, accomodation, vaccinations etc) so all donations will go directly to the resources required for the project and to the continued development of the community of Somoto. Any donation no matter how small would be greatly appreciated and put to good use. Thank you!
