Story
During our time in Assam, our team of Irish and Indian students will be renovating 5 Anganwadi centres in 3 villages. These Anganwadi centres are pre-schools that also provide education, nutrition and vaccinations for pre-school children; as well as health checks and contraceptive information and supply to women. The centres are a vital element of community life in Assam, but some are in dire need of redevelopment to make them safer places for children and pregnant women to visit. Our team will also be delivering educational workshops on topics identified by these communities such as female empowerment, menstrual health, alcoholism and harm reduction, health and hygiene and first aid. We'll also be performing a street play in Assamese highlighting some of the social issues raised by the local communities.I am so excited to work on this project with such an incredible group of people!! However, none of the amazing work we hope to achieve will be possible without help. Each leader and volunteer has been given a fundraising target.I've been fortunate to have reached this far, but would really appreciate any donations to help me reach my goal!
