My Story
Growing up, I've been lucky enough to try my hand at a wide range of sports and experience first-hand the positive impact that sport can have on a young person, such as improved social, physical and mental wellbeing.
This June, myself and 10 other UCD students will travel to Jinja, Uganda for four weeks to provide a GAA coaching programme aimed at promoting sport and wellbeing among local children. We will work with Simba Wolfhounds GAA and local schools to deliver a structured programme to over 1,000 children, with a strong focus on equal participation between both boys and girls.
We will adopt a "train the trainer" approach to provide local teachers with the coaching skills and resources needed to ensure that local children continue to benefit from the programme long into the future.
All donations will go directly towards the GAA programme and covering essential project costs, such as food and accomodation. Your support is much appreciated. Thank you!
