Hi! This summer I will be heading to Ruaha, Tanzania to help facilitate UCDVO's Computer Eduction Project. Since 2009, UCDVO volunteers have worked with partners, Tanzed and Camara, providing computer literacy classes to teachers and school-children in Tanzania. They also teach English classes and facilitate summer camps for 100's of children there. Since 2009, volunteers have continued to work in Morogoro, Mikumi and Ruaha on computer education programmes, classroom refurbishments, summer camps for children, the distribution of books and educational resources, as well as the construction of a basketball court at Kihonda secondary school. UCDVO partners with Camara Education for the provision and set-up of computers laboratories in Tanzania, aswell as hosting computer collection dates in UCD, Belfield. Tanzania is one of the 9 priority countries with whom Irish Aid work with. The fundraisig target is generally broken down into €1,400 for volunteer participation costs (flights, accomodation, training, local transport) and €1,250 for the costs of the project (eg. educational resources, equipmet). Every donation, no matter how small, will be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance,Ciara
