Hello everyone! This year I will be volunteering virtually for 4 weeks with UCD Volunteer Overseas, as part of the Nurture Africa Business Project. The aim of the project is to support Nurture Africa’s business & livelihoods programme by providing training for Parents/Guardians on how to start or develop an income generating activity, and by helping small business owner/start ups develop business and marketing plans. These funds will go directly to to Nurture Africa’s ongoing livelihoods/education programmes, and support specific costs of the virtual volunteering project such as transport, food and resources needed. While virtual volunteering will certainly be a challenge, UCDVO have been so creative in their approach, and have managed to create a programme that will really serve to benefit the community in Nansana. Activities will include live consultations, pre-recorded educational videos, and live workshops with people in the community.
