On June 5th,I will be taking part in the Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin with a team from All Together in Dignity (ATD Ireland). This year, we are collecting money for a great children’s program in Manila, Philippines called Ang Galing. Started in 2012, this project is run by ATD Philippines and 153 local volunteers from all walks of life, to help children aged 6 to 14 from deprived communities in Manila to learn to read and write. This year, 40 students from the community of Manila North Cemetery are involved in the project that seeks to build up the self-confidence of the children thanks to one on one teaching sessions and creative activities. The proceeds will be split in the following way: 70% will be sent to the Philippines to help finance the Ang Galing project and make sure that more children can benefit from it. And 30% will stay here in Ireland and will serve to finance local actions from All Together in Dignity Ireland
