Hello ! This summer I have been given the amazing opportunity to travel to Kisiizi, Uganda for 4 weeks with a team of volunteers as part of one of the UCD Volunteer Overseas Healthcare Projects. I will be travelling alongside other physiotherapy students, a charted physiotherapist, as well as nutrition, nursing and medical students.  As physiotherapy students we will be working with the team in Kisiizi Hospital focusing on disability awareness, education and physiotherapy programmes for family and children with physical disabilities. Our team will be running Cerebral Palsy camps with the aim of providing education, support and sustainable treatments solutions for children and their families.  Each volunteer is required to raise a minimum of €1200 which will go directly towards the project to provide resources such as physiotherapy equipment (wheelchairs, walking aids, specialised seating etc)healthcare and educational resources, as well as covering the cost of children and families attending camps. Furthermore these funds will also help maintain and develop other healthcare services which we hope will continue after the project. I will be covering all travel, visas, accommodation ect expenses myself, and so I can promise that your donation is going directly towards helping this amazing cause. I would kindly appreciate any donations, no matter how small, to help make this project possible.
