I am delighted to share with you the news that my final physiotherapy elective placement for my Masters of Physiotherapy, has afforded me the opportunity to work with UCD Volunteers Overseas charity, at Ferrando Speech and Hearing Centre, in Shillong, Northeast India. The centre is a school for children with hearing, speech and physical disabilities.  The project will involve treating the schoolchildren and the local community, and providing a treatment camp for children with cerebral palsy. We will also work alongside the local orthotist to build and supply orthotic and seating devices for children and families. The project also includes health awareness campaigns providing education on topics such as identifying and managing disability, and antenatal and postnatal care for women. For this amazing project, I must raise €2,650. The money raised will go directly to UCD Volunteers Overseas charity, funding my participation in the healthcare outlined above. Your donations are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Breanne.
