Hey! I'm Aoife and I am super lucky that I have been selected to travel to Nicaragua in June 2018 as part ofthe UCD Volunteer Overseas Project Team. During the summer, I will be travelling alongside other UCD students to Somoto in north-west Nicaragua. We will be working on both construction and education developments during a 4-week period. Previous projects to Nicaragua have succeeded in constructing many facilities for local schoolchildren including basketball courts, dormitories, library management as well as the supply of running water. Each team member has to raise €2600 which includes the transportation and funding of project materials, for both construction and education. All money raised goes directly to volunteers’ funding target for their participation and implementation of the development projects overseas and is not used to cover costs for fundraising. I hope to hold as many fundraising events as possible towards the end of this year/beginning of next year and until we head off in June 2018. However, any donations of any amount, no matter how small, for this worthwhile cause would be so appreciated! ¡Muchas gracias!
