Hello everyone! It's Aoife here!This year in July 2021 I am participating in the UCDVO Volunteering & Global Citizenship Programme, which includes a 4-week virtual voluntary placement with The Holy Union sisters based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. It is a resource centre for children with disabilities (Matumaini Centre) which provides food, physical therapy, support and a safe space for their parents as well as providing training on lifestyle interventions. Over 100 children visit the centre each day. I will be working in partnership with the staff there and Dietitians from Ireland to create resources and provide funding for them so they can provide the best care possible. For more information on the Sisters visit: http://www.holyuniontanzania.co.uk/matumaini.html
