Hi! this summer I will be travelling to Assam in Northeast India with the UCD Volunteering Overseas Project. A team of 16 of us will be travelling to India for 4 weeks from the 14th of June to the 14th of July. For the duration of our stay we will be organising educational projects such as language classes and raising awareness on topics which have been made apparent in the local community surrounding women empowerment, alcoholism, health and hygiene and first aid. In pervious years this project has been incredibly successful and has worked to utilise the skills and enthusiasm of UCD students into projects which enhance the development of underprivileged communities. This is a wonderful opportunity and I am very excited. The total cost of this project is €2650, and I am hoping to fundraise as much as possible, €1200 of these funds will go directly to the community and will help to develop numerous projects. Any contribution of any size will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
