Hi , my name is Ana Deevy and this year I will be taking part in UCDVO's development education programme. I will be travelling to the small town of Morogoro in Tanzania with 15 other volunteers for 4 weeks. During this time I will be focusing on education and community development. this includes teaching computer skills and Englishlanguage classes to students and teachers in various schools in the area. UCDVO works in partnership with TanzED , which are an organisation that helps rural areas of Tanzania with community development and education. UCDVO and TanzED have been working together since 2009 for the delivery of computer education, library development and English language programmes in the Morogoro.TanzED aims to improve the standard of English teaching in primary schools; help in acquiring and use Information and Communication Technology (ICT) basic skills, improve school management, principally parent and community participation; support libraries and literacy projects;support community projects in the areas of water provision, health (chieflyHIV/Aids)and environmental issues. Any donations that are received are greatly appreciated and are going towards a great cause. UCDVO works around the world in helping and teaching and I am honoured to be apart of it. Donations big or small will go such a long way and if there any questions regarding the project don’t hesitate to ask. Thanks,Ana
