Hi Everyone,This year I am delighted to have the opportunity to travel to Morogoro, Tanzania for four weeks as part of the UCD Volunteers Overseas charity.UCDVO is a registered charity which provides UCD students,staff and alumni the opportunity to engage in a year long volunteering and development programme for the benefit of disadvantaged communities overseas in response to needs identified by those communities. Through links with the Irish Embassy in Dar es Saalam, UCDVO established a partnership with a Tanzanian NGO called ‘TanzED’.  Since 2009, UCDVO have worked in close cooperation with the local community in Morogoro on computer education projects, classroom refurbishments, summer camps for children and the distribution of books and educational resources. This year I was fortunate enough to be chosen to work on this project. Throughout the year I will be participating in development educational workshops, health and safety training and team building exercises before traveling overseas in mid-June to spend 4 weeks working directly with the communities in Morogoro.All money raised through the altruism page will go directly towards the project.
