Response

Youth Work Ireland is a federation of 22 Local Member Youth Services and a Youth Work Ireland is a federation of 22 Local Member Youth Services and a national office. We support our members to deliver an Integrated Youth Services Model to young people in their communities. This means that young people around Ireland can avail of a whole range of services and supports if and when they need them. We have an established network of over 150 projects and services and over 300 youth clubs across Ireland. On a weekly basis we actively engage with and support over 116,0600 young people, their families and the local communities. Youth Work Ireland is supported by 6721 trained and Garda Vetted volunteers.

Projects

  1. Youth Work Ireland's Year Long Campaign on Mental Well Being include the national roll out of Be Well – Working with Young People to identify and address Anxiety. This 90-minute activity session will help young people gain knowledge and skills to identify and address anxiety in their lives.

  2. Garda Youth Diversion Projects serve young people who are at risk of getting into trouble with the law. The projects are designed to help young people develop their sense of community and their social skills through different activities. Young people are offered opportunities in education, employment training, sport, art and music.

  3. There is a number of youth cafés run by Youth Work Ireland services. The informality of the Youth Café offers young people a space to develop relationships outside the school and family structures, while also staying in a safe environment
