This year I have been fortunate enough to have been given a place on the UCDVO Volunteer Programme in Assam, India as well as having been selected as a student leader of this project. This project takes place in conjunction with the Assam Don Bosco University. UCDVO has worked in partnership with Assam Don Bosco University in Guwahati, Assam since 2014. Volunteers from Assam Don Bosco University, Department of Social Work participate alongside UCDVO volunteers on community development projects. These activities include running workshops in response to social issues identified by the community. We will travel to India for the month of July to run these workshops and community projects. I am asking for your help in reaching my individual fundraising goal of €1,850. These funds will be used primarily to support UCDVO’s overseas partners to run vital health,education, livelihoods, and community development programmes. UCDVO is a registered charity that provides UCD students, staff and alumni with the opportunity to engage in a volunteer programme for the benefit of disadvantaged communities overseas, in response to needs explicitly identified by those communities.
