My Story

About Mustard Seed Communities Mustard Seed Communities (MSC) is an international non-profit dedicated to caring for the most vulnerable populations throughout the developing world. MSC provides loving and lifelong residential care to children and adults with disabilities, children affected by HIV/AIDS and young mothers in crisis across Jamaica,  ‘Children for Children’ Volunteer: What’s It All About? This programme is designed to open the thinking of children from first world economies to the everyday realities of life for abandoned children living with disabilities. Through positive interaction and work projects volunteers enhance the lives of the children of Mustard Seed and help improve the facilities and infrastructure of their homes. Irish volunteers stay at ‘Sophies Place’ in Kingston which is home to 22 children with disabilities. Sophies Place opened in 1997 funded by Irish donors. Our goal is to raise much needed funds to rebuild the three residential cottages at ‘Sophie’s Place’ which are now in urgent need of update and repair.

Charity supported

MSC is a charity dedicated to caring for disabled and abandoned children in Jamaica, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe & Malawi.
