Hi Everyone! This year I'm delighted to be  participating in the UCDVO volunteering programme again and will be heading back to Uganda for a 4 week placement next Summer. In July, myself and a group of UCD students will be travelling to Kisiizi Hospital in South Western Uganda where we will be helping out with a longterm project that aims to improve and provide access to healthcare, we will also be working on health care related education for families in the area. The project also includes a rehabilitation programme for children with disabilities and we plan to run various workshops on topics such as first aid, nutrition and disability awareness to name a few. UCDVO run sustainable projects and the goal is to help people help themselves. I will be funding all of my own expenses so all of the money donated goes directly to the project, funding things such as equipment and supplies and also to support people in the local community. Any donations at all will go a long way and would be hugely appreciated!! I'll be updating throughout the year and when we come home on what all of the moeny raised went towards!
