Hey! My name is Jack and I am a 1st year Business & Law student in UCD.  Having joined UCD this year I am fortunate to have been chosen to volunteer as part of the Development Education and Healthcare Programmes in Nansana, Uganda this June, 2020. Nansana is a town located in the central region of Uganda, approximately 12kms north-west of the capital city Kampala.  Over a four week period, myself along with 20 fellow UCD students, professors and alumni will be working in collaboration with the Irish NGO Nurture Africa to provide access to Healthcare, Education, Sustainable Livelihoods and Child Welfare for vulnerable families within Nansana. The money we raise will go toward the provision of equipment and assistive devices including crutches, standing frames, walking-frames and wheelchairs. We have each been asked to raise a total of €2650 of which €1200 of this goes directly towards the development project. Funds will also support the further education of staff and the families, development of facilities and the provision of care after we have left the project.
