Hey guys! As some of you may know I am currently studying Physiotherapy in UCD. I have been so lucky to have been offered the chance to travel to Kisiizi Hospital in Southwest Uganda with UCD Volunteering Overseas as part of my 4 weeks elective placement next summer. My role will be to work as a student physio within the community and hospital providing intensive physiotherapy for children with disabilities such as Cerebral Palsy. We will be working closely with the families and providing them with the necessary education on their child's condition and the support they require in order to allow them to continue to provide treatment even when the project has finished. Alongside this, I will also take part in other community developments such as providing education workshops on other topics such as hygiene etc and build aids for children such as seating and splints with available resources. Of course in order for this project to provide these crucial and benefitical services I need to raise 2,650 euro. 1400 of the funds will go towards my flights, accomodation, visas etc while the remaining 1,250 euro will go directly towards the hospital for the provision of equipment such as wheelchairs, provision of Cerebral Palsy Rehab Camp, development of facilities and implementation of community development projects to make a sustainable difference! My  aim is to make more than the required amount in  order to increase the amount going towards the hospital and facilities itself. I will be organising fundraisers throughout the year but any donation big or small on this  would mean the absolute world to me but more importantly to these families in Kisiizi! Thanks for the support,Hannah
