This year I have been lucky enough to be accepted onto the UCDVO Volunteering & Development Education Programme, and as part of this I will be spending four weeks in Tamil Nadu, South India in summer 2019. I am really excited to be involved with this as it is a  new project for UCDVO this year. I will be working with a team of UCD volunteers, in collaboration with Nandri, an Irish charity based in Tamil Nadu. Their mission is to empower disadvantaged women in rural India through self help groups, micro finance, and child education support. During the month over there, we will carry out some practical projects  in the rural village communities, working in conjunction with Indian college students. I would really appreciate any support or donations you can offer, no matter the size.
